Choosing a great set of bluetooth earphones that ticks all the boxes and still sits under the €50 price bracket, can be a difficult task. There are many things to consider when making your choice as all earbuds will have their strengths and weaknesses, depending on the situation in which they are used. For this review, we had a few criteria to satisfy:
- Suitable for sport / running.
- Great sound.
- Having a price tag of under €50.
Let’s say you are in the market for sport earphones. The last thing you want is something really heavy and cumbersome. It will just make your workouts even tougher, without getting the benefit! Ideally what you want is a set of earbuds that are lightweight and fit snugly into your ears. We found the F9 earbuds from kolooky to be extremely comfortable to wear. After a few minutes, you would not even notice that they were there. With a sweat-proof design, we never felt at any stage that they would fall out.
In terms of the sound, we felt the F9’s ticked all the boxes. Compared to say Airpods Pro, the cone is just that little bit bigger, which gives the F9’s a real drive in the low end. The bass is deep and powerful, without being muddy. We also found the mids to be quite punchy and not harsh. There is clarity in the higher frequencies. The bluetooth technology is v5.1 for crystal clear transmission. The earphones feature CVC8.0 noise reduction technology. Overall the sound is very balanced and has plenty of drive for workout style music, but can be subtle too for softer types of music. The earphones have a decent volume and also do a good job at keeping the outside sounds in the environment away.
One of the nice things about these bluetooth earphones is that they come with their own charging dock. You simply place each earbud into it’s charging socket. A battery display will tell you how much charge the battery has left. The charging dock also doubles as a case for the earphones, which is super nice. The battery capacity is 2000mAh which should give around 10 hours of music. You can even plug your phone into the charging dock, which is a very nice feature.
We were pleasantly surprised by the price tag of these bluetooth earphones. Coming in at just under €50, we felt they punched well above their weight. For the build quality, sound and comfort we found these earbuds to be exceptional value overall.
Kolooky also do a few other cheap bluetooth earphones, which we have not tested. If you are on a budget, they might be a good option, but we would highly recommend the F9 earbuds as they still come in very cheap. You can check them out here:
